Lauren Miller (she/her)
I currently work at The Courageous Space as a Support Worker and was previously a client support and administration officer. Learn more about the Support Worker here.
Alongside this, I engage in volunteer work which has strengthened my commitment to accessible, inclusive, and community-focused care. I am currently completing my Psychological Science degree at the University of Queensland, where I continue to strengthen my foundation in evidence-based practice and psychological theories. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent and LGBTIQAP+ communities, with a focus on helping individuals build confidence, strengthen authentic relationships, and move meaningfully toward their goals. I am especially passionate about accessible healthcare and ensuring people feel respected, seen, and valued within supportive spaces.
Approach
My approach is grounded in person-centred care and informed by strengths-based and affirming principles. I recognise that everyone experiences and processes the world differently, and I remain mindful of sensory needs, communication preferences, and the impact of masking, burnout, and systemic barriers. I prioritise building genuine, trusting relationships as the foundation of meaningful work together. My core values are openness, trust, individuality, and compassion. Through these values I aim to create a safe and collaborative space where clients feel empowered to explore their identity, deepen self-understanding, develop emotional regulation and self-advocacy skills, and navigate relationships with greater confidence. My style is warm, friendly, and authentic. Sessions typically involve collaborative goal-setting, strengths exploration, and skill development paced according to each client’s individual needs and comfort.
