Rhythm of Me: A Group for Neurodivergent Kids

  • The Courageous Space (Located in Sum of Us Kids) 98 Somerville Road Yarraville, VIC, 3013 Australia (map)

Rhythm of Me: A Group for Neurodivergent Kids is a one-off, playful, music-based group for Autistic and/or ADHDer teenagers run by Shevaun, an AuDHDer Speech Therapist. Through favourite songs and lyrics, participants are supported to explore self-expression, communication, and identity in a creative and validating way. Music is used as a supportive tool to gently unpack masking, celebrate authentic communication styles, and build confidence in advocating for individual needs.

This group is ideal for young people who enjoy music, creativity, and imaginative play, and who will benefit from a small, affirming space to explore identity and communication alongside peers with shared lived experience. Rhythm of Me offers a safe and joyful environment where young people can explore who they are beneath masking, use music and lyrics to express thoughts and feelings, understand their communication needs, practise self-advocacy in ways that feel fun and empowering, connect with peers, and feel genuinely celebrated for their identity, expression, and creativity.

The group will be held on Tuesday 20th January, 2.30pm–4.30pm AEDT, at our Yarraville, Melbourne space. The cost is $90 per participant. To secure your spot, reach out to info@thecourageousspace.com.au
