Muriel Dourado (she/her)
I hold a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Counselling from the University of Queensland. I am an accredited counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
Approach
I have experience supporting children, university students, and adults navigating a range of challenges, including grief and loss, relationship difficulties, chronic health conditions, postpartum depression, and major life transitions. I have a particular passion for working with neurodivergent individuals, and I strive to create inclusive, affirming spaces where people feel supported.
My integrative approach is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy and draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt Therapy and Mindfulness to support holistic healing and self-awareness.
I work with people of all ages- honouring the unique strengths, stories, and challenges that the different seasons of life brings.
I believe in creating space where you can explore your inner world and move toward your most authentic self. So, whether you're looking for support through life transitions, identity exploration, mental health challenges, or simply seeking a space to be truly seen and understood—I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and acceptance at the heart of our journey.
