Clare Wallace (she/her)
I am a registered Occupational Therapist with experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of functional, developmental, emotional, and sensory needs. I’ve worked in both clinic-based and community settings, and my practice is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming principles, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based therapeutic approaches.
Approach
I am passionate about helping people understand themselves, feel safer in their bodies, and build meaningful, connected lives. I'm often told that I bring a calm, grounding presence into my sessions, and I work hard to truly see the whole person — their strengths, nervous system patterns, sensory needs, values, and lived experiences. My relational style allows me to support clients and families through moments of overwhelm, identity exploration, emotional regulation, and the everyday functional challenges that can feel big and heavy without the right support.
As a neurodivergent occupational therapist, I bring lived experience to my work. I understand what it’s like to move through the world with a sensitive nervous system, shifting capacity, and a need for authenticity. My life in a blended rainbow family with four young children also shapes the empathy and perspective I bring to supporting parents and caregivers, particularly those navigating complexity, transition, and the emotional load of raising little people. I’m often told that my presence feels calming, validating, and genuinely safe.
My therapeutic approach is playful and developmentally attuned when working with younger clients, and reflective, values-focused, and identity-affirming with teens and adults. In sessions, I integrate regulation tools, sensory-motor strategies, psychoeducation, and reflective conversation to support long-term wellbeing and meaningful change.
Whether I’m working with a young child building emotional regulation skills, an autistic teen exploring identity and independence, or an adult navigating burnout, executive functioning challenges, or nervous system overwhelm, I aim to create a space that is warm, gentle, and deeply supportive. Above all, I’m committed to helping people move toward authenticity, self-understanding, and a life that feels more aligned with who they are.
